This course will provide students with the main themes and developments of world history from around 1500 to the present. Special emphasis will be placed upon the cultural diversity of the non-western world, non-aligned nations, less developed regions and the common experiences of ordinary people over time. Major attention will be placed upon the various factors which have facilitated growth or decline at different speeds in different parts of the world. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101.
