Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, successful students will be able to 1. perform arithmetic operations on polynomial, radical, rational and exponential expressions 2. find equation of line and solve problems using linear modeling 3. solve linear and non-linear inequalities 4. evaluate and graph functions; and model using functions (cost, revenue, break-even, equilibrium) 5. solve linear, absolute value, quadratic, polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic equations 6. compute simple and compound interest, annuities and instalment payments using mathematical sequences 7. use Gaussian elimination to solve systems of linear equations 8. solve linear programming problems Required Materials: Required Text Title: Mathematics with Applications in Business and Social Sciences.
